Leading story
SCRIPT in house leading style designer shares her success
Following the story of her success and the troubles she has faced on her journey, Elinor Walker gives us her perspective on her fashion career and how she has gotten to where she is now
From rejection letters to red carpet repugnance. Over the years, I have encountered a variety of problems, they're almost too hard to remember. I started out as any other designer; by forcing my brother into a dress that i had stuck things on when I was only 8. However the punishment was not enough to deter me from my destiny.

My family were desperate for me to become a lawyer but I refrained from my parents wishes and lost all support from them. Much to my parents dismay, at secondary school I took art and design for A-level and started my journey achieving high grades. This resulted in my removal from the family home and thus spurred on the independence that allowed me to flourish in the fashion world. Working retail jobs to rent out a small flat, I surfed Ebay and charity shops alike for old clothes that I could dismantle and reinvent in my
own image; I cut them up, ripped parts off, completely reinvented the style. Then I sold them. I took the stride to pay for small advertising segments in local newspapers and plastered my image anywhere I could. Business was going steady but it was no where near enough to make a living, those who brought my items sung them to the high heavens, however there is a limit to how much you can do in a confined area. Then the day that changed my life occurred.
Thursday afternoon, I'd just finished work and exhaustion was very prevalent, however my passion didn't cease and I headed back to my sewing machine. Previously, I'd applied to many internships for various fashion companies to no avail and expected the trend to continue, but by some miracle, my style was reaching further than I anticipated and I was scouted by a company of the name 'SCRIPT'. They took me under their wing and allowed me to blossom without infringement of my independence, this led to a new chapter in my life that's still ongoing.
